Sep 10, 2016 · Hi there, Here i'm offering fully assembled the Lo tech 8-bit IDE adapter rev2, Lo-tech's take on the orignal XT-IDE design. Not to be confused with the other sale thread i have here on amiba, those are the cut down versions with support only for CF cards, microdrives (disk on modules) and ATA-2 compliant hard drives only.

The Glitch Works is currently supplying XT-IDE rev 4 boards, parts kits, and assembled units for hobbyist use. When using XT-IDE it is possible to save a couple of components: put XT-IDE BIOS into system's flash memory, and remove the EPROM and the 74LS688 used for EPROM chip select on XT-IDE board. Optionally - a floppy disk controller. Watch me build an XT-IDE kit from Glitchworks designed to give modern storage options to the IBM PC (and XT), then test it out and hopefully get it running! So here is a new thread for anyone that is beta testing the 8 Bit XT-IDE card, either Rev 1 or Rev 2.

Is it possible to upgrade an XT-IDE controller to an AT-IDE controller to use in an 8086 computer? I have an WD FileCard 30MB but the drive is dead and I would like to upgrade it if possible to support an 44MB AT IDE drive that I have (WD93044-A).

This board, when used with a custom BIOS like the XT-IDE Universal BIOS, allows the use of modern 16-bit IDE devices on the 8-bit ISA bus.
